Summertime Goal: Learn to Skateboard

Since I've always dreamed of teaching my future bulldog to skateboard (see Tillman) I figured it's time to buckle down and finally learn to skateboard myself! My friend and skateboard designer Carissa has graciously offered to teach me her skills... and now that it is on my blog she's officially on the hook for it! It's one of my many summertime goals - so wish me luck.

I only hope I'm half as cool as this kid.

I probably won't be mastering tricks like this anytime soon.

So maybe I'll try some mixed doubles!

And I'm sure there will be plenty of this going on.

Because seriously, how freakin cute is this for motivation?!

  1. Always bend your knees. Staying in a crouched position is half the secret. I've seen so many people, while growing up skateboarding, who would take my board, try to ride it, and fall because they are keeping their legs stiff.

  2. I'll try to remember to keep my legs loose and my knees bent! Thanks for the tip!
