Textured

The combinations of textures in these jewelry pieces are simply stunning. I love the mix of fabric, rope, and metal. All are from the fall/winter 2011 collection from Orly Genger by Jaclyn Mayer.

This week I've decided to start a special Friday Finds post where I pull together a few of my favorite new must haves! A girl can dream right?! (For this post I'll always include links of where to find so they can be on your wishlist too!)

Aren't these photos from Jamie Beck, inspired by Amelia Earhart, just stunning?!

Roksanda Ilincic

"Ilincic’s inspirational collection ran the gamut from 1960s couture to grunge-era styling, but when it comes to choosing her palette, the designer prefers to go with her gut. The instinct for spring hues was spot-on." - VOGUE

I was so struck by all the colors of this runway show - I had to share a few of my favorites. And isn't that hot pink hair on model Charlotte Free just amazing?! I wish I could pull that off!

Crystal Necklace

I was instantly struck by this safety pin + crystal necklace. Love the big and boldness of it. It wasn't until I searched for the source that I discovered it was self-designed by the fabulous Karla's Closet.

Birthday Bowling Pin

When I was eight I had my birthday party at the Palo Alto bowl and they gave me this bowling pin, actually used on the lanes, with my name sharpied onto it. Seriously a super sweet birthday present! Do any bowling alleys still do this?!

Karla's Closet

I just recently fell in love with Karla's Closet. Her style is so bold and elegant - yet she always seems so effortless and simply put together. Here are a few of my favorite looks from her - check out her site, there are so many more inspiring combinations and styles to look at!

Archival Rucksack

I came across this waxed canvas pack at a bike shop in the mission and was instantly struck by the detail and construction. It's made in the USA and designed by Archival Clothing, a small apparel company based in Eugene, Oregon. I think this is simply craftsmanship at its best!

Arnold Palmer

I've fallen in love with Arnold Palmer (the drink)! Ever since quitting my diet coke addiction a few months ago, this has become my new go-to. Although the official recipe calls for 1/2 iced tea and 1/2 lemonade, I like to favor the iced tea for a slightly less sugary refreshment!

Tillman the Skateboarding Bulldog

This video makes me smile even after watching it for the 50th time. Enjoy!

Star Wars Cookies

Over the holiday weekend I decided I wanted to make some sugar cookies. And after remembered I only had one small cookie cutter, the idea to use our Star Wars pancake molds seemed like the perfect solution... and it was! I'm not a huge Star Wars fan (don't get me wrong I love the movies, I'm just not totally geeking out here) but this was the most fun I've had making and decorating cookies since I was little.

We used this recipe and made one Darth Vader, one Yoda, and lots of storm troopers!
