Railroad Revival Tour
Tonight we are going to the Railroad Revival Tour in Oakland. I simply can't wait for this collection of good music from bands I've been loving and listening to all year long!

Little known fact: I once took the train with my family all the way from California to Iowa and back. What an adventure that was!

8tracks
Is it possible to be in love with a website?
I was at the end of my rope with pandora with its frequent song repeats and totally ridiculous follow-ups ... this happy hour run-in could not have happened at a better time. And while the appreciation for the reference to an eight-track is a little before my time, it has a nice nod to the lost art of the mix tape.
No really, I am in LOVE. And if you like discovering new music and enjoy a musical journey throughout the day, you will be too!
This last weekend I met the founder of 8tracks - an online radio website where artists, dj's, and otherwise muscially inclined people can create and upload "8 track" long playlists.

Local Eateries {El Metate}
When people ask what my favorite part of living in the city is - the first thing that always comes to mind is getting try new restaurants...so I've decided to share my explorations with everyone here on my blog!
The first restaurant of note is the mexican food of El Metate, located just a mere three minute walk from our apartment, this place has quickly become a go to meal for me - especially when I'm on my own. The bright yellow building will catch your eye from a mile away. And while my most frequent order is a carnitas burrito regular - you'll often find me opting for the steak nachos instead - which are good but definitely not the highest rating on my life long search for the best nacho (currently held by Chanos in LA). Oh, and don't forget to try their classic tortilla chips wrapped in yellow paper with a twist and homemade house salsa - delish!
Stay tuned for more restaurants I try and love coming to you here!

Curiosity Shoppe
I had the random fortune of popping in to the Curiosity Shoppe on Valencia Street last weekend... not remembering that this was where The Collection a Day was being exhibited. This is such a cool collection to see in person! Happy collecting everyone! And happy Monday!

Fireworks & Fools
Today is our third year anniversary, of what you might ask, nothing specific. Roughly three years ago today we knew we were more than just friends. And while April Fools Day may be a weird choice to some, it felt just right to me... what a fun day to celebrate filled with pranks, laughter, and fun. To head into the weekend, as the Giants season gets underway, I give you a photo we took at a game last summer. Happy April Fools everyone!
